Costs calculator

Estimate the administrative charges and basic arbitrator fees for a CACM arbitration.

Informative estimate, without official status. Actual amounts and the applicable schedule must be confirmed with CACM. This calculation is not a quotation from the Centre.

2017 Regulation · official CACM source

The amount in dispute is the sum of the principal claim and counterclaim (Article 4(2)).

Basic estimate

Enter the amounts and select the tribunal composition.

What is included

The subtotal adds the administrative charges in Schedule 1 and fees in Schedule 2. For three arbitrators, basic fees are multiplied by three; the indicative allocation is 40% to the presiding arbitrator and 30% to each co-arbitrator, unless otherwise agreed (Article 6(3)).

What requires CACM confirmation

Travel and accommodation, evidence-related expenses, extraordinary expenses, one-off charges, any applicable taxes and lawyers' fees are excluded. Reductions, increases and adjustments for early termination are not applied automatically. For a sole arbitrator, the Regulation allows a possible increase of up to 50%, subject to the Centre's decision.

The result relates to the proceedings, not the amount payable by each party. Allocation must take account of Articles 3 and 10, among others. The 1% administration charge is deducted from arbitrators' fees (Article 7(3)); it is not added to the subtotal.

Version and schedule limitations

The calculator uses only the 2017 Costs Regulation available on CACM's website. Its availability does not dispense with confirmation by the Centre of the schedule applicable to a particular case.

The schedules contain bands beginning one metical above the preceding limit and some discontinuities. Published base amounts and excess components are reproduced literally. Where an amount with cents falls within a gap not expressly covered, the calculator requests CACM confirmation rather than inferring a band.
